Hron river bank
Wineries / Vineyards
The Hron river valley includes the vineyards on the gentle hills on both sides of the Hron river and the area around Štúrovo, in hungarian Párkány.
In the south, the soil is volcanic, andesitic, loamy, andesitic-loamy, and in the north, the vines grow on loamy-adoby soils.
The hillside starting with Hegyfarok (hillside) near Štúrovo, Párkány and continuing in a north-westerly direction is the hottest wine-growing area in the Highlands, with the highest average temperature, and it is no coincidence that it produces high-quality red wines and fiery white wines.
Main grape varieties: italian Riesling, green Veltelini, Rhineland Riesling, King's Daughter, Blue Franc, Saint Lawrence.
