Strekov region
Wineries / Vineyards
One of the most famous wine villages in Felvidék, Slovakia.
In the 2000s, it gained recognition for its popular wine festival, its spectacular viticultural renewal and its internationally renowned winemakers.
The surrounding villages are also part of the Strekov wine region. It is characterised by compact, loamy, loamy-limestone soils, loamy in places, and south-south-west facing slopes.
The main grape varieties are Italian Riesling, Green Valtellina, Blue Franc, but there are also new breeds and international varieties. There is a long tradition of grape breeding, thanks to the Korpás family, and the first "natural wine" association in Slovakia, the Autentists, was founded here.
